Our Beliefs
The Sonshine Learning Center is founded on the concept that young children learn through everyday play and positive social interaction with each other and the staff. Therefore, the daily schedule allows for structured and unstructured activities: inside, outside, in large groups, small groups, and independently in learning centers that include block areas, library, sensory (water/sand, etc.) and playground equipment for large-muscle play.
About Us
The Sonshine Learning Center was founded in 2008 by First Church to provide quality affordable day care with Christ centered teaching at a low cost. Today Sonshine has grown to care for over 30 families each day.
Our Curriculum
The center’s curriculum and activities are designed to nurture the cognitive, social, emotional, physical. spiritual, and creative development of each child. Hands-on involvement with materials and equipment through a wide range of activities (based on developmental readiness) will help the children gain self-sufficiency, self-confidence, self-esteem, and sensitivity toward others.
